How to publish a Replit app to the App Store

Short answer

Replit’s mobile apps are built with React Native and Expo, and its publishing flow, powered by Expo Launch, signs your build and uploads it to App Store Connect. It doesn’t own your Apple account, write your listing or get you through App Review. If your Replit project is a web app rather than a mobile app, you’ll need a wrapper or a native rebuild instead, and to watch for Guideline 4.2.

What Replit handles

When you build a mobile app on Replit, the agent scaffolds an Expo/React Native project. The publishing wizard runs the build, signs it and uploads it to App Store Connect, so you can skip Xcode and certificates.

What’s still on you

  • Your Apple Developer Program membership ($99/year).
  • The listing: name, subtitle, description, keywords, real screenshots, support URL.
  • App Privacy answers that match what the app sends, including to your Replit backend and any AI provider.
  • A demo account that works on the first try, and review notes.
  • A backend that stays up while Apple reviews the app.

The rejections Replit apps hit most

Before you submit

  1. Point the app at your production deployment and make sure it’s always on.
  2. Install the TestFlight build fresh and sign up as a new user.
  3. Move every secret key to the backend.
  4. Add account deletion and, if you use AI, a consent screen.
  5. Write the review notes and add the demo account.

Or have us do it

Our App Store Launch takes a Replit mobile app from uploaded to approved: listing, privacy, review prep and first-round rejections, for one flat fee.

Questions

Does my Replit backend need to be always on?
For review, yes. A deployment that sleeps or cold-starts slowly will look like a broken app to the reviewer, which is a 2.1 rejection. Use an always-on deployment during review.
Can I publish a Replit web app to the App Store?
Not directly. You’d wrap it (Capacitor or a wrapper service) or rebuild the core screens natively, and make sure it doesn’t read as a repackaged website.
Where do I put my API keys?
In your Replit backend’s secrets, never in the mobile app. Anything shipped in the app binary can be extracted.
